Default Navigation Back up camera

Hi

Did the 2007 navigation have a back up camera? Yesterday one was spotted.

Is this a Do your own or did it come this way?

Thanks

Alan

It did not come that way from the factory. There is no video input on the factory nav for a camera. It must have been an aftermarket nav. There used to be a thing called "LockPick" that interfaced with the factor nav to allow video input but the screen resolution is so poor its not even worth the effort.

Default Reverse View Camera

It would be nice to have a 2"x2" reverse view in the OnStar mirror when the tranny is in reverse.

Chevrolet: Hint, hint

It is/was available in some Chevy models. The C7 has a backup camera.

Aftermarket is the way to go anyway. I have an Alpine with backup, Nav, blue tooth, DVD, XM, Pandora, etc.... Way better than stock.

Default Back up camera

Hi

I saw a neat vert but it had two strange things a speaker mounted on the steering wheel column right between the speedometer and tach. This has to go. Also a rear view camera mounted lower back above the exhaust, this also has to go.
And there is a button on the console ???

And the killer a 1 inch cut in the drivers seat with some wear on the bolster.

How big is the speaker? If it's small, it could be a microphone for the bluetooth.

If you don't like the cameras mounted on the car, you can buy them intergrated in the license plate frames.

I don't think there is an aftermarket unit that will work with the HUD but the unit provides voice turn by turn so it's not something I miss.

You definitely have to decide what is important to you. I would rather have a nice stereo system than the stock. The HUD works with everything but does not show turn by turn.

Commamnder 2000 How was the install of your Kenwood deck?
Or did a shop do it for you?
I've got a DNX790 that I've been contemplating installing

install was easy just get a wiring harness then everthing is plug an play. the hardest part is getting the center console off but even that's not so bad after doing it a few times

I read somewhere that backup cameras are required on all cars and small trucks starting about now ... maybe 2015.

I have one on my '09 that Double D installed when they put in my Kenwood last year. It works well.
