After driving home tonight, I pulled the Vette into the garage (2013 C6 M6 Coupe) and turned the car off. I went to the rear, popped the hatch to get something out, and I heard a prolonged series of sizzles. It sounded a lot like water hitting a hot pan. Haven't heard this before. Definitely sounded close, as I was standing in the rear. Closed the hatch, it lasted another few secs, and stopped. Any thoughts on what it might be? This one caught me off guard.
Normal, water condensation from the AC unit dripping on the exhaust...
Interesting...this was definitely not the hottest day by far. I've run the a/c a lot, but this was the first time I've heard this. It's my
DD, so I'm always at the rear hatch getting my gym bag, etc. after driving home. This was just the first time I've heard this dripping/sizzle. Thanks for the input!
I agree.. condensation hitting the headers on my car.. I hate it, so I shut off the AC a mile before I get home and let that water drip out before I hit the garage.

Seemed more like it was coming from somewhere in the rear of the car. That's what was so puzzling...
There are also drains in the back rails around the hatch not sure where they come out underneath but I watched mine swallow a pile of water while washing it.

That is the GM designed plugged A/C drain warning sounder. If the A/C drain plugs water can back up into the passenger footwell soaking the carpet and eventually shorting the BCM which is a very expensive issue. The sizzle you hear is water draining normally onto the hot exhaust indicating the drain is NOT plugged. You need to worry if you DON'T hear it. As long as it sizzles the drain is working properly.
Man, I am glad this forum is here. I am really having to learn all of these nuances about the Vette. So many different sounds/noises that are apparently normal, but I just never experienced in my previous cars. Then again, my previous cars never had 430HP
