hud G meter
I know how the G meter on the heads up display works and I have been playing around some in the curves. Today I happen to glance down and seen 1.08 but I think I went past that. I can not tell and I don't really like staring at the little G meter while rolling in and out if curves. I read somewhere on Google to park the car and hold down page and that will show your best G since the car gas been started. This does not work on my corvette. Maybe my hud is different from the 1 I was reading about on the Internet? ? I have a 2005 ls2 c6. Does anyone have any advice on how to view my best G after stopping before turning the car off so I'm not paying too much attention while in the curve?

Sounds like you were doing it right if the HUD was in one of the track modes.

Yes it was definitely in track mode. It doesn't show the G meter in street. Maybe I didn't hold it long enough so I will definitely try that. I wanted to get a picture since I went past 1 full G haha

You can peak the meter just by moving the steering wheel quickly when in a turn. Say you are in a 1G left hand turn and you suddenly turn the wheel a little more to the left and then take it back to the original position. The G Meter will increase with that tweak.

Man, that's high! I got to .86 on a real neck snapping right hander on hiway 1 the day I got it (06 vert) and was very impressed at how flat the car cornered. But over a full G? Geebus.....

Software was upgraded to allow this feature in 2006 model year.
2005 manual:

Page 3-20:
Track Mode 1 supports the
G-Force gage and minor
gages with a circular
tachometer.
Track Mode 2 supports
G-Force gages and minor
gages with a linear
tachometer.
2006 manual:

Page 3-22:
While in Track Mode 1 or 2, the maximum G value
achieved during the current ignition cycle can be
displayed by pressing and holding the PAGE button.
The maximum G display will be shown until the
PAGE button is released. The maximum G value
display will be identical to the normal G value
display, except the maximum G gage digits (X.XX G)
and corresponding G gage bar will overwrite the
current G value.

Thanks for this tip. Queen City Corvette Club (Charlotte, NC) had a run to "The Tail of the Dragon" last weekend. We had a terrific time and pulled a lot of G's on the 318 curves. I had my HUD in one of the track modes, but was too busy watching the road to look at the G readout. I knew there was a way to pull up the maximum G force before cutting off the ignition, but none of our members remembered how to do it. Now I will have to return!!!
