I have a 2006 z06 with 23k miles. It has a forged motor 12.5:1 CR, built trans, and a bunch of other mods.
I noticed this was a progressive issue where it was barely noticeable at first and slowly but surely became much worse.
At this point, I'll push the button to turn on the car and you'll hear it turning over and it takes a few seconds to turn. I'll drive around a little bit, turn the car off, and come back a little later to turn it on and it takes even longer to crank up, or it won't at all.
I used to have an issue with an electric water pump where it wouldn't turn on all the time and would overheat due to that. Whenever that would happen I would have the same issue mentioned before and that was typically the only time that I would have the starting issue. I since replaced the electric pump with a stock one and no longer have the cooling issue, but the starting issue remains in effect. Any help would be appreciated.
I see it is a 2006. Have you replaced the battery lately. Are the nuts on the battery tightened properly and are they the factory tapered ones. If they are not tapered, they may not be making a good connection. It may also be that the alternator is not charging the battery properly as well. Just guessing here.
I would pull the starter and replace it with an MSD or a powermaster
with your mods I would expect heat soak into the solenoid from the headers slowly killing your stock or old starter
