Default npp quick question

Ok I've read so much that now I'm confused.

I have a 07 and this weekend I'm picking up a npp mufflers with over axle pipes from another forum member.

I know the pipes are different for 05-08 and 09-13.

I can cut the pipes off of both and weld the npp onto my stock pipes? And then it fits?

Or do I have to get work done to make my stock x pipe meet up with the 12 npp over axle pipe?

Or will either option work?

I plan to add headers with x pipes later on as well and I assume I may have to adjust the exhaust again

Mid pipe AND overaxle pipes are different. You can use your mid pipe and your pipes from the mid pipe to the muffler cut the old mufflers off and and weld the new mufflers there.

Or you can modify the mid pipe to fit the NPP overaxle pipes.

When you add headers you will scrap your mid pipe anyway, all headers require a dedicated mid pipe. When you buy the headers you'll have to order the correct mid pipe( '08 or '09 and up) for the setup you end up with.

yeah...what he^ said. in your situation I would have the mid pipe modified to fit the 09-13 npp so you don't modify it and hurt any possible resale value. stock h-pipe isn't worth anything.

If I have the 12 x pipe and cats all the way to mufflers will they bolt up?

I guess it will be easier when I get them to get under there and look. It's hard for me to visually understand.

Any pics of the 07 exhaust next to a 09+ exhaust?

I thought ls3 started in 08 and npp started in 08 but they changed the mid pipes/x pipes in 09?

I have 07 ls2 and I will be getting 12 cats x pipe nod npp exhaust. :-) but I'm still uncertain if this all just bolt up

You are right. I just did this with my 2007 ls2. I found Npp from a 08 car so i got lucky. But if i was in your boat with NPP from a 12 car I would get any mid pipe from 09-up since they are so cheap. Then it would be a complete bolt on mod. from what I found when i did mine you have to take the mid pipe out anyways.

If you using 2012 cats, xpipe and npp exhaust, everything should bolt right in.
