Carlisle
This will be my first time going to Carlisle but unfortunately will not be able to stay too long. Wife, kids and I are going to stop by Saturday for a couple of hours and have a couple of quick questions
- My kids are ages 11 and 9, any issue with bringing them.
- Since I’ll only be there for a couple of hours what/where should I focus my visit
Definitely want to see some cool Vettes but would also love to buy some accessories/parts for my C6 GS (D shape steering wheel, interior parts, etc.)

If you're looking for new stuff, check out the midway in the middle of the field. If you're looking for parts, then you'll want to check out the swap meet. Tell your wife that there's a women's oasis for her, plus they have a bus to take the ladies shopping in downtown Carlisle. Believe me, a couple hours won't cut it. And there is NO issue bringing the kids. There are kids events too, but geared more to younger kids. Your hardest thing is going to be to find parking. I suggest you find a yard that rents out places to park and pay the $5 they normally charge to park close.
There's an event map on Carlisle's webpage so you can see where everything is located.

I live near Carlisle and often go Sunday morning, but get there early, many have already departed, but by early afternoon it begins to look like a mass exodus. Its sill worth it if you get there early. I like it because its not crowded and there are still vendors and nice cars to enjoy.
It was crazy crowded on the fun field today. Lots of pop up tents going up. They are enforcing the ban on staking and taping off spaces to save them for people. If you're not there or if you don't have a tent up, then you can't save a spot. Saw the Carlisle LEOs going around removing it.
NO vendors were selling today except the Museum.
Rain is in the forecast all weekend.

Currently resting comfortably in our Harrisburg hotel, an easy 25- minute drive in the morning to the Carlisle fairgrounds. Lots of Corvettes in the parking lot, lots of good conversation in the bar. See you all in the AM.
....and now it's a little after 3 PM Saturday and we're back. Early morning rain was pretty heavy, later became just some drizzle on & off all day. Crowds were pretty light, parking was a breeze this year. Most all the major vendors were there, got some great deals and found a few odds & ends for the '62. Many nice conversations with many nice people. Had a great time as always (been coming since 1990), see ya next year . . . We're off to Maryland to visit some of the grandkids.

Awesome show. It quit raining around 11:00 AM and started again around 4:30. Other than the rain, was a great time. Its hard to believe that there are that many Corvettes out there. The new Zo6 is quite the machine!
