Our plate registrations here in Missouri are pretty cheap. However, we have something called Personal Property Tax, so I get to pay tax based on the value of my vehicles every year. They seem to get you one way or the other.
Are you talking about registration renewal? Mine is $62.75 here in Texas.

I guess every state has one way or another to separate us from our money.....
Just got registration with personalized plates, cost me $111.50. The personal plates were $25 itself. Of course the driving season is only 6 months long here.
I feel for you. I used to live in Minnesota (Redwood Falls) When I moved from Iowa to MN, my paycheck went down. When I was transferred to South Dakota from MN, it was like getting a big raise.
Just renewed my plates....... $818.00 on a '13 Vette in MN.
When I moved from South Dakota to MN i received a 12% pay raise and took home only $26.00 per month more.
I'm looking to move to a non income tax state.

Is that for one year if so WOW, how do they determine what you pay? In Florida it is by weight of vehicle so mine is 58.00 a year and no state income tax so come on down!!!
Don't feel bad. In ga where I used to live it is 7 or 8% don't remember of the total value of the vehicle. 40k at 8% I believe 3200. Then every year after the first year of registration i think it is only 20bucks. How ever in Montana now it is only 20bucks no matter what. Thanks to being in military.

$67 here in Texas and no state income tax. We do have property tax that keeps going up. I now pay 50% of what my mortgage payments were for a year in property tax. BS

Yep, that's what happens when you have more people riding in the wagon than pulling it.....but that's for another thread in PRC
