If it's just a nick, like a surface chip, and not an actual break with line(s) radiating from the nick, I don't think it can be fixed. And I'm not totally sure, but insurance may not cover it anyway unless it's in the driver's line of sight.

Safelite is the best. Insurance covers it all in most cases, check your policy. They've fixed three of my other cars, and did a great job. Had them come look at a small nick in the vetts windshield and they told me it was so small more like a chip and since it wasn't in the line of vision I decided to leave it and watch it and if it got worse which they said it probably would not, then fix it. they're very good and professional.
