So I rolled over 70k miles on my car the other week. I was thinking of doing a full baseline in the not too distant future, think all fluids, belts, sparks, plugs. I can probably do plugs and wires, but since I'm out of college now and living in an apartment, I don't have access to all of the tools I used to or even a place to jack up the car. How much am I looking at to change all fluids and belts? How much would I expect if I let someone else do the sparks and plugs?

Thanks! I'm in Houston if it matters.

You can do plugs and sites in the parking lot. Just need socket wrench and socket. Cost less than $100. Dealer charged me $175 ea for coolant and A6 fluid change. I did my own brake fluid change when I upgraded pads and rotors, need a jack for this.

Belts can be done without any tools but a socket wrench makes it easier.

Alright. I've changed plugs and wires on my Vortec 8100 before, so that's not a problem, would only have them do it if it was super cheap. Never did a belt before. I might have to look into doing those myself. $175 each doesn't sound horrible. Might be worth it. Thanks for the response!

hmm - trying to envision how...

Really need a long 1/2" drive breaker bar to do the belt, at least that's the best tool to use.

On passenger side top is a belt tensioner...just push it towards drivers side and slip belt off. Just took mine off yesterday. Also works on my C4.

This one

Now AC belt is easier due a long extension.

If you can push your tensioner over with your finger, it may be time for a new tensioner.

Takes quite a bit of pushing, but you may be right. I know I can do it on a new one on the C4.
Changed both belts at 100,000 miles and changed the Alt at 120,000 miles. Used a 1/2 breaker bar for the belt change and my hand the other two times.
