Default LS2 Engine Question

Hey everyone! I bought the cars of my dream a few weeks ago proud owner of a c6 corvette! just joined the forum hoping to meet other corvette enthusiast and expand my knowledge Last night I came home after a short drive and noticed a small ticking when parked. I have searched some forms and found some people have said lifters or valve train but a lot of people are saying its normal because of the direct injection. I just never payed attention before and hearing it last night just has me slightly worried... so can someone post a video of what a healthy engine would sound like? or is it really common would love to hear some feed back also could get a video for you all to further analyze the ticking.... Thank you all in advance!

C6 does not have direct injection.

Ticking is usually lifters and is common. My 07 ticks more with dirty oil and quiets down with a oil and filter change.

Congrats on your vette. Now post some pics.....it Is required. Lol

My C5 did it, and my C6 with 34k miles does it. I heard it is a common lifter noise with the LS engines. Mine is loudest while warming up in idle.

I like to run Marvel Myster Oil from time to time to help clean the lifters. Buy a quart at your local auto parts store, could help, but most likely not, because of the synthetic oil.

Congratulations on the Vette. Like Wayback says, give her some clean oil, a new filter, and have a ball. If it makes you feel better (and I understand if it does) let the service dept. listen to it for the peace of mind.

I've read plenty about complaints on knocking/ticking sounds but according to all the responses over various posts it's pretty common and normal.

My 07' has sounde like a bunch of sewing machines, at idle, since new. I have 43,000 miles on her and she's still going strong. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! Yah might just take it in and get it looked at so I can have that peace of mind driving it. But from what everyone here is saying seems like its pretty common so its somewhat of a relief. For those asking will post pictures soon!
