Default NAV problem

The NAV system has been working as it should since I bought the '05 about two weeks ago. On Monday I took it to a local car show and had it on display with the top down. It was in the 90s with plenty of sunshine. The NAV worked on the way home.

Started out last night and the display showed "Please insert map disc". Opened the face and pushed the eject button to check the disk. Nothing happened and when I pushed the button to close the front it did not close. I held the button down and gently pushed the front and it closed still saying it was looking for the disc.

Checked it this morning and still had the same message. Pushed the button to open the front and it did not open.

Try disconnecting the battery for a bit, reconnect and remember to re-index the windows.

A glitch and that should reset it. If it still can't read the disk try shooting some compressed air into the DVD slot. The lens could be dirty.

You might try removing the fuse for the radio rather than disconnecting the battery...the idea is the same...to reboot the radio, but this is less disruptive on the rest of the car.

Thanks all for the replies. I think I will try pulling the fuse method first.

Pulled the fuse and waited about a half a minute before putting it back. Started the engine, hit the NAV select and it is working fine.

Thanks again.
