Default Ranger method flush

Hey guy's did the Ranger flush on my 07 Vert today. I did it 5 times using Prestone Dot 4 synthetic brake fluid. There is 12oz in the bottle. I was going to use G.M. but dealer said they did not stock it had to order it and $20.00 per bottle. So pulled up some old threads and Prestone Dot 4 syn. was reported to be fine.
After taking out the old fluid it was very dark. Once I finished and used up the 12oz bottle the fluid was still not clear. It was not dark at all but not clear as in the video. Question is should I keep flushing with another bottle or should this be fine for another 2-3 thousand miles?? Thanks in advance !!

If the fluid has been neglected it could take more flushes.

I would continue flushing till the fluid stays clear/golden. It should not change color from the bottle color when the system is clean.

Depending on mileage driven I would do it routinely thereafter, every couple of months depending.

Is this the first fluid change since new?

Stay with it until it looks clear/golden.

You don't necessarily have to sit there and pump the clutch in the garage. Now that you know what's going on, you could just drive the car a few days to a week then change it again. Keep repeating the drive/change/drive routine until it's nice and clean. Then figure out a routine time interval, based on your driving and checking the appearance of the fluid, that works for you.

A couple of months ago I had it at the Chevy dealer and they replaced the master or slave cylinder under warranty. I would assume they did flush it then but who knows. I got to thinking about it after reading some post and checked it and found it very dark.

Ditto, use the ranger method as a ongoing event.

Hence if needed since the fluid is black, start off with a few changes with pumping to begin with, then start just replacing the fluid every few drives until it get it at least a light amber, then maybe every few fill ups after that (more if you are driving the car hard, such as every other race if you are strip running).

Listen to him!

I never mess around when I have a passenger, if at all anymore.

Just something that I learned the hard way back when I was a teen.

I was in the same boat. I've done it several times with multiple purges. I made up a little set-up.

Now I don't know what to do with the old brake fluid?????????????

Does your city or county have a recycling center. I have a five gallon gas can I use for old drain oil and brake fluid. When full I take it to the recycling center.
