Cooling system issue
2007 Base - 135k miles.
I was about 2 miles from my home and heard some chirping noises from under the hood. When I got home I saw coolant had been sprayed all over the place. I was able to find that the radiator hose had been pushed off the seating position on the water pump. I pushed it back on, tightened the hose clamp, and rinsed the coolant off the motor. I then test drove and all seemed well.
Fast forward to this morning - the car began making a rattling noise at over 2k RPMs on my way to work. So I turn around to head back home. The temperature climbs to 245 degrees. When I get back home, coolant is again all over then engine bay.
I visually can't tell where specifically the fluid is coming from, but will dig more into it when it cools down.
My first thought is that it's the waterpump that has seized up - which would cause the rattling noise, the leak, and the pressure to push that radiator hose off. Am I barking up the right tree?
