Headlight removal
Hi, haven't been on for awhile but I now have a problem I need some help with, My DS low beam is out, can you replace just the bulbs?
the dealer wants 1800 to replace the whole unit. I see there is a recall out on the problem, but incase mine isn't included (2007) I need to know my options. any advice or a place where I can get a diagram on replacing the light. If I buy a used one will the lens come apart from the main housing incase I have to paint it. Thanks in advance.

Whoa, slow down. 
It's probably just the bulb and yes you can replace it. Forget the dealer wanting to replace the whole unit! That's dumb on their part.
You could do your own test by switching the PS bulb to the DS to make sure it works but that is a lot of extra work but no cost. Or obviously just get a new bulb and put it in. Here's a DIY. Be sure to head and follow the warning about being very careful with the 2 screws, they are easy to lose.
