Default auto headlight sensor bad?

Hi Guys,
My 07's auto headlight sensor seems to have stooped working. They used to go on by them self's but now are on all the time. Anyone know where I should start to correct this problem. I have played with all the settings and all the bulbs are all working correctly.

Thanks,

Thanks,

First off, do you have the light switch dial set to auto? Most of us turn the lights/running lights off when we start the car in the garage by rotating the dial clockwise then letting it click back to auto, but you may be over rotating the dial and it ending up in the on position instead of auto.

Also to note, if you don't turn the lights off, then they will stay on for for a while even in bright sun light (until the system shuts them off a short while later instead). Also, in less then bright light conditions, the lights will stay on.

With the dash lights turned off manually when you start the car (turn the light dial clockwise and let it snap back to auto), you just get the dash light suggested message in the DIC in these less than bright light conditions (single press of the top right button will turn the message off), and the message may come back on if the lighting turn to less then bright conditions.

If you are sure that the light dial is set to auto and the lights are not turning off after a while in bright sun light (will stay on in less than bright conditions),

Pop the center speaker grill, and check the sensor to see if it went south.

Your checking for resistance of the sensor plug connectors with a multimeter, hence one with the sensor under a bright lamp, and then in darkness; which should be different resistance's.

As for popping the center speaker cover out (Twilight sentential senor is the white dome unit on the top of the grill) , I use a plastic butter knife to start working the grill up to pop the tabs from the dash slots, then walk it around with my hand to get the rest of the tabs popped out (note, pop the grill out when it's warm, and if needed, crack the heat on in the car to toast the inside of the car for a while to warm up the plastic so the tabs pop out easily from the dash slots).

Note, at the end of the video, that white dome on top of the grill is the sensor that you want to test.

Thanks Dano that's looks easy enough to do.
I did go through all the settings and I know the sensor or something else is bad so I will start by checking that.
Sure appreciate the video!!
