Default Blendmount radar holder

Hi

I would like to get some feed back on it. I will be mounting an Escort 8500.

It seems to just plug into the back of the rear view mirror! Plug and play?

Thanks

Alan

2007 with the upgraded rearview mirror with OnStar, bluetooth. And auto light.

Just did it on our GS with an 8500. Love it. Very clean and solid..

You need to get the cord that plugs into the mirror too. "Mirror Tap Power Cord"

The blendmount looks and works great. Take your time and don't get frustrated trying to insert the wiring connectors in the back of the mirror. It is a bit of a pita to accomplish. You'll love the blendmount and your detectors location.

Had mine for over a year... works great, no bouncing or vibrations.

The Mirror tap does take a little finesse to get it in.

Default All options are a pita!!

This is what makes me crazy. It says it is plug and play but it is more like pot luck.

Why can't it just be a simple plug in.

Kingman, Just like the others and I used a black wire tie after I installed the wire tap. I tied it to the stem on Blendmount to keep the tap from coming lose.

I have the Escort redline and the blendmount - love it, have had it for 2 years no problems - get the inviscord or the power tap into the mirror - it's not that hard to plug in the two wires into the mirror power plug, just a little awkward - takes about 10-15 minutes and most of it is double checking you are tapping the wires into the right place on the multi-plug - it's worth the much cleaner look and plus it turns on and off with the car

Do you guys take off the mirror to tap the wires? Otherwise it seems awkward to get behind the mirror.

I must be one of the luckiest forum members on here. When I installed the mirror tap the two pins slid right in the mirror harness no problem first try and are a secure fit. To the op I also use the 8500 and really like the setup, you will too.

Search radar detector from the left menu.

I followed these detailed instructions for the invisicord and love my blendmount. I am not sure if anything has changed over the years but this is from 5 plus years ago.

Yes.

On our 13 GS, I unplugged the connector to the mirror to plug in the wires. Have fun!
