The blendmount looks and works great. Take your time and don't get frustrated trying to insert the wiring connectors in the back of the mirror. It is a bit of a pita to accomplish. You'll love the blendmount and your detectors location.
Kingman, Just like the others and I used a black wire tie after I installed the wire tap. I tied it to the stem on Blendmount to keep the tap from coming lose.
Fjust realized something l have a convertible so it might be easier to plug it in????
I have the Escort redline and the blendmount - love it, have had it for 2 years no problems - get the inviscord or the power tap into the mirror - it's not that hard to plug in the two wires into the mirror power plug, just a little awkward - takes about 10-15 minutes and most of it is double checking you are tapping the wires into the right place on the multi-plug - it's worth the much cleaner look and plus it turns on and off with the car
I must be one of the luckiest forum members on here. When I installed the mirror tap the two pins slid right in the mirror harness no problem first try and are a secure fit. To the op I also use the 8500 and really like the setup, you will too.
I followed these detailed instructions for the invisicord and love my blendmount. I am not sure if anything has changed over the years but this is from 5 plus years ago.
