I, like others who drive there corvette a lot have these tiny little paint defects from rocks or whatever hits them when driving.
My question is this, those of you that drive dark colored corvettes, the little dings seem to all have a white look around the inside edges. I use Zaino wax and detail spray so it should not be from that, but I don't know. I know when I had it detailed they were almost invisible, no white rings. So my question is this.
Without removing the wax, how can I get rid of the white stuff inside them like they were when I got it back from detail. You know detailer will not tell you how they do it so that is why I am asking, someone has to know a product or way to make those not have that.
See the attached photo of what I mean if there is any questions.
Thanks in advance, I thought about having the nose repainted but unless I had the clear covering installed it would just happen again.
I would also use the good doctor, do search on the web for him watch the video, and the trick is to drop the paint before the chip, and swipe it clean, and it fill the chip.
Our Victory Red got sand/gravel blasted a couple of years ago, must have been 50 small chips mostly on the hood and bumper and fenders.
I used the GM touchup paint, using the "ballpoint" part for the small chips and the brush for the few larger ones. Use a piece of cardboard to keep checking the ball point to be sure it's flowing properly.
My detail man was not pleased, but from a few feet away you can't see the difference.
If we have the car at 100k miles (currently 76k), I'll probably have the hood/bumper repainted.
Cool and very informative video. The one post about using Dawn is what I want to avoid, I do not want to remove the wax just the white inside the chips. When the detailer buffed it and the white was removed the chips were almost invisible, it is the white that makes them stand out or if deep enough the lack of color, I will practice the method in the video for sure.
A detail shop told me that alcohol can soften paint, so I use 91% but just wipe on/wipe off ASAP.
If you're using just a little, it evaporates pretty quickly.
