Hi I'm new here and looking at purchasing my first Corvette, it's a 2005 with the Z51 package with 94,000 miles for $18,500, it's fully loaded minus navigation. I took it for a test drive and drove like a vette should but rolled the windows down to listen and after breaking I'd get back up to speed and I'd hear a squeaking noise coming from the what sounded like the rear of the car. Any ideas of what it could be? Also what do I need to be on the look out for with a car with this many miles? Thank you
My guess would be dried out sway bar bushings. Cheap and easy to replace.
Ditto....normally squeaks are caused by rubber components ie: Sway bar bushings, shock bushings, etc. or plastic pieces rubbing against each other
Try spraying WD40 on those sway bar bushings and see if it stops the squeaking temporarily.
I went and drove it again tonight just to double check and it sounds like metal on metal. I'm passing on it. I just don't want to take the risk of something major. I also ran the car for a little while and pulled the dip stick to the oil and it smelled a little burnt.

Good decision. There are plenty of well-cared for Vettes out there...you just have to be a little patient.
