I was really surprised when I took my '07 coupe through an automatic car wash last week and it didn't leak one drop. Nothing.

And the top doesn't creak or rattle either.

Today, I ask the same question about my 2010 GS on this forum and, with the exception of a couple of good people, I get Comedy Central!

Forums are diverse and interesting places, On the photo, Ugly Hedgehog forum, it has become 50% political and 50% photo, I only go there once a week because of the nasty comments, On the Bachmann model train forum, Piano starter and a Stained Glass fabrication forum, it's always about helping others, no snide or rude remarks, I have wondered we car and photo people are like that ? does it have to do with the gender make-up, mostly alpha-male -macho types here ?

Thank you. My sincere condolences to you as well. It's a hard thing to deal with, but somehow we have to muddle through.

Sorry to hear about your wife. You are not alone here. I lost my wife of 37 years about three years ago. Part of my recovery was the decision to buy a new 2012 vette and move forward.
I feel for you. It's never easy and we always did everything together. 37 years is a long time, too. Thank you.

Now wait a minute. You gotta 'splain that one. 62 what? If it was a '62 Vette, how is that so bad---even with a Powerglide? But if it was a '62 Rambler (or Valiant), well....maybe not so good....

I haven't had time to take photos yet, but mine is a 2010 Convertible in Velocity Yellow with black top and interior. It had 13,000 miles on it when I bought it on 10/25....still has that new car smell!

Join us for the geezer lunch every Tuesday at 1 PM at the Black bear Diner on Bell and 61st Av. Just a bunch of older car guys who hang out and laugh a lot for a couple hours each week. Mostly Vettes, but several Mopars too. At age 73 you'll fit in perfectly.

Back in the day forums werent like they are now. They were boards. People would post up notes on their dial up. It took forever and a day and the boards were a mess. Yes they did have them in the late 80s. Back then it was funny too many people logging in would boot you off. Sucked.. You had to find times when it wasnt so busy so you could do anything!

Welcome Lew to the modern era hu. Sorry to hear of your loses but with time same as anything the pain and confusion will go away.

A couple of people answered your question quite thoroughly on the first page of the thread. The rest is just good-natured noise. If you can't deal with that, then you are in the wrong forum.

Hopefully you will get the hang of it and join in the fun!

Lew, don't let a few smart-azz responses sour you on this forum. It really is a good place for information. Probably every one on here has been poked fun of at one time or another. Just do your best to let it roll off your back.

I see several others from the Phoenix metro area have mentioned different gatherings, etc... So I will jump on and offer you yet another one. Each first Saturday of the month, there is a nice gathering of Corvettes at Corvette Performance AZ. They are located in Scottsdale (2318 North Scottsdale Rd) It usually starts about 6:30 and goes until about 11:00. Good group of people and attendance is pretty high, especially this time of year. I went to the one in September and there was probably about 100 cars there. Not to mention you get free coffee and donuts. The next event will be Saturday December 6th. Hope to see you there.

I often make posts that some think are uncalled for and out of line. And guys let me know it and say whats your problem or get a life. I am totally ok with that and many times I deserve it.Actually that's what I like most about CF is you can voice your opinion and get feedback both good and bad. If I am going to dish it out I have to be able to take it. Its the internet for Christ sake! Don't be so thin skinned. Some of the cats on here are pretty damn funny. Just my 02 and worth every penny

Automatic car wash?!!! Nooooooo! don't you ever do that again. Those things eat cars. You have broken one of the Corvette Ten Commandments- Thou shall not use automatic car washes. It wasn't one of those where everything is pulling and slapping the crap out of your car was it? I don't even want to know-

Good points. Heck, when I first joined the forum I criticized GM for using incandescent exterior light bulbs in the C6 vettes, like in the tail lights on my 2012, when other OEMs like Toyota was putting them in their cars tail lights in RAV4s back in 2006. Geez, I got so many tomatoes thrown at me that I could make enough catsup to put Heinz out of business. No problem. I smiled and took it in stride. This is a great forum.
