Default Traction

Just installed a 3:73 gear on my 2005 auto and are having issues with traction at the race track.

I am thinking of buying a set of rear wheels with drag radial tires to swap at the track.

Anyone here ever used multiple types of tire manufactures who can advise what works best?

Thanks.

I prefer Hoosiers, but you'd get more answers/opinions over on the performance section.

I live in Montgomery TX and I have a set of 17" wheels with Hoosier drag tires that I no longer have a use for. The tires are 70-80% tread if not more and they are garage kept. If your interested let me know.

I bought my 2008 used it came with a set of drag radials for the rear and a set of skinnies for the front I,ve driven with the rears and the previous owner told me he would drive to the track with both the drag radials and skinnies aprox. 70 mls. Each way He. Has his times posted on the forum 10.88 @ 125.25 car drives fine with different size wheels and tires he even had the front stock rims cut down for a narrower tire that is on all the time without any issues if you need any tire sizes let me know hope this helps Jack

You bought Larry's car? Do you run it at the track?

I am interested in your rear wheel and tire set up. I hear the 17"Z wheel,is the best set up when using larger tires.
You can call me at 713-254-8798 for your price. Thanks
