Default Running wire

Hello,

I need a little advice, I need to run a wire from the engine compartment to the cabin in order to install a switch (don't ask). Where is the best place to get thru ??

Thanks

The best place is probably the existing bundle of wires that go into the passenger floorboard.

If it's something more temporary (only because it won't look as clean) you can run it to the fender and around the door jamb into the glovebox/passenger floor area. That's how I ran my wideband for tuning.

I brought my nitrous wires through my shifter, since the control box is in the ash tray.

On my other Vette I brought the wires through the passenger side fender, then cut the door boot and black silicone it up. These wires had RJ-45 connections on them and did not want to go through the firewall boot.

good luck

I ran a wire just above the dead pedal. It comes out from the interior just under the brake booster, and I used 1/4" wire loom to hide the wire, and followed the existing loom on the driver side.
If you need to go to the fuse box, you can run the wire/loom behind the engine block on the firewall.
I drilled a 1/2 hole just above the dead pedal from the inside. I removed the dead pedal ( 2 bolts) before drilling. I used a depth bushing on the drill bit to only go through the firewall about 1/2" so I wouldn't hit anything on the engine side.

Good Luck

As noted above, use grommet near dead pedal where hood release cable goes through.
