Going to pull the bezel so i can mount an iphone holder cord neatly with a belkin charger into the cupholder. Been searching and can't find a thread with pics or step by step instructions. I've pulled enough dashes apart i don't mind going in blind, but figured while i was sitting here and warm I'd get some tips before tomorrow mornings frosty event
I've done it twice and pretty straight forward except for blindly figuring out the various plastic electric connectors... Don't think I'm allowed to link to other sites, but I believe Crutchfield has step-by-step instructions on their site. Hope it goes smoothly!
Great feedback and link - thanks guys. Already read it and pretty much what i suspected. I may wait till Saturday for the Pioneer AVH400Nex install - and just modify the cupholder then. I also just ordered an iphone 6 and need to make sure that will fit!
I just want to be able to slide open the cupholder, plop my phone into a base with the charger/connection there - to fire up the headunit as well as keep it static.
Search YouTube for "MGW shifter install in C6". MGW made a video showing it all. It's a 15- minute job the first time...5 minutes after you've done it once.
A basic stereo R&R will take about 1-2 hours the first time. I just put a new AVIC unit in mine.
