Activating Onstar

Activating Onstar
Just bought a 2011 GS Convert. Trying to activate Onstar. So far the account has been converted. Having problems getting the first out going call made to complete the registration process.
When I try to make a phone call the system comes back and says there has been a network error. I got tech support on the line in the car and they did diagnostics and came back saying the Onstar antenna was having problems.
Searching the forums the antenna is located on the windshield on the passenger side.
I have no antenna attached to the windshield. Is this normal for this year?

You onstar antenna is a black box glued to the windshield in back of the mirror.
I was just reading another link, where some of them have been falling off and some have removed them. The box it at the top of the windshield behind and to the right of the mirror. If its not there my guess is, onstar won't work.

Never heard of it being anywhere else. You need to find out from whomever you bought the car from if they know anything about it.

I am wondering if someone didn't do the same thing to your car?

I ordered the antenna off ebay. Should be here next week. Pulled the trim down and did not feel any connections so I might have to remove the trim to get it in.
