This weekend I took an early evening cruise through the national forest and mother nature almost got me. I came around a right hand curve and saw pigs crossing the road. If I would have been driving like an idiot I would have wrecked the car and got hurt for sure. As it was I ended up getting lose but was able to gather it back up without hurting the car, pig, or anyone else. This time of year with hunters in the woods I had a feeling something could pop up but figured it wold be a deer not a small pig. Be safe out there guys.
Just north of you in E TX the hogs are getting so out of control you can see them crossing almost any road at any time of day. Bad news if you are cresting hills or coming around blind corners, and fortunately there are a lot of roads around here with blind curves.
Glad to hear you were able to avoid damage/injury. In recent times it seems the hogs have overrun Texas. May not be all bad. If times get really hard, at least there will be pork.
I was hoping that you were not going to post some more wadded up pictures. Good save.
I keep my head on a swivel these days, that wreck has taken a long time and a great deal of rehab to recover from. The last thing I have left to fix is my left elbow, I have had six cortisone injection in it this year and the doctor said that's its time to cut it open.
The car is perfect except for a bad coilover but a new one is suppose to arrive via UPS tonight and the car is apart in the garage waiting for it. I will have it back together tonight and in the alignment shop tomorrow.
Funny, usually when we are out having a spirited drive in our Corvette's, Bacon normally refers to something with blue lights that we have to watch out for. This has more of a literal translation.
You never know when mother nature is going to get ya. I was driving an SUV going to a July 4th fireworks show and was driving the speed limit and talking to my wife about where we should park to get a good view. Next thing we know a deer jumps out to cross the road and we just clipped it with the front driver side, it was moving from the passenger side to the driver side. Almost missed him, then again, a half second faster and he would have been right in the windshield or my wife's door.
The deer spun around about 4 times, jumped up and ran off. All it did to my SUV was knock a side marker light out which I removed some deer hair and popped it back in. But it could have been bad.
Sometimes it reminds me of the Geico commercial with the two squirrels that try to make cars wreck on purpose and laugh about it.
In a truck you can hit a deer no problem but hitting a pig is big time damage. The two things you never want to hit are a pig or an alligator, both animals destroy the under side of your vehicle.
