I had a 1999 C5. My first Vette. Always loved the car. Went without for 10 years. Got a 2011 Grand Sport. Big difference in performance. I love the looks of the C6. Between the 2 I would definitely take the C6.
Sounds like you are more frustrated with the minor problems with your current ride. I'd suggest you find a newer used model that still has the warranty. If you trade up and get a "lemon" you're going to be in the same boat that you are in now but deeper in debt
Yea, the HUD dropped, the battery dies if I don't start it for a week (I'm in Wisconsin for Christmas and had a friend try and start it while he was in the area and it was dead), weird electric issues time to time. Tire pressure sensors that will stop working and then work, all my traction control will die and come back, column lock intermittently gives me problems, front turn signals go out *constantly*. You're absolutely right on the potential lemon, but I'll put in my due diligence to screen my car.
Thanks for the replies everyone, great advice. Depending on what I decide on actually spending, I'll probably shoot for an inexpensive 2005-7 low miles 'Vert.
If I find a Grand Sport that I like and feel it's worth the money after some thought and a test drive, I'll go for that.
Either way, looks like I'm getting a new Vette.
Happy New Years everyone, I'll be checking back for other replies!
