For IPhone:
I use "Harry's Lap Timer" for just about everything. Has GPS speedo to see actual speed vs displayed speed.
"Track Addict" is what I use when I want a video record overlaid with performance data.

Torque pro is the app your looking for the android,

Then you need one of these (plugs into the OBDII port, and is Bluetooth),
For Iphone,
DashCommand, and you need a Elm 37 WiFi (not blue tooth)
Also note, in either case since the OBDII plug is aiming straight down in the car, get a low profile Elm37 so you are not hitting it with your knee when plugged into the port.

Yes, since it's data logging the cars data. With some apps, it's using the phones accelerometer instead, and if the phone is not rock solid in the car, your going to get funky readings.
The only thing that it will not do is give you are reaching time off the lights (logging starts at the cars acceleration).
