I have an '11 and my drivers side window is tinted aftermarket, but I have a vertical streak on it that seems to get worse and worse as time goes on and the window goes up and down. I had this same issue with my '90 Vette. Anyone else experience issues with aftermarket tint jobs? Is there something in the door/window mechanism that does NOT allow for the added slight depth that tint brings? I was thinking of ordering a replacement window that is pre-tinted rather than having it retinted aftermarket again......any thoughts?
I had a problem with getting 2 grease spots and starting to wear on my tint on both windows. There is a round piece of Velcro (soft side) on the center of the pulleys in the door. The window slides against this as it goes up and down. Those pieces had slid of the center of the pulley and was causing the pulley grease to get on window and to come in contact causing minor scratch.
My tint on both windows have a scrath on them about 3" from the front corner. I read on here that a wire tie may be the cause. Have not pulled my door panels to check the cause.
I had an issue with the passenger side window,i took the door panel off to see what the problem was but never figured it out,put the panel back on and never had the problem again.
My drivers side got scratches all over it ,due to it goes up & down a lot.I took it back to the tint shop & they put new tint on it at no cost after 2 yrs. They told me it was caused by that piece of felt that is on the top of the door.Need to keep it clean.....
