I feel the same way about my '05'. I've had it for ten years and plan to keep it well into my 70s.
Someone asked if I had considered a Hellcat.
Yeah I have..BUT:
Dealers are gonna scalp them at a ridiculous level because someone will have more $ than sense and pay it. I cant understand why you need 700+ hp when you don't have the tires to put the power to the ground. Got a buddy that is an engineer, he says 392 would be better because around 500 hp is close to ideal for weight and traction of Challenger platform. Any less, not fast enough, any more and it goes up in tire smoke or the traction computer shuts her down.
392 with 6 speed would be a good package for the Challenger with regard to driveability
As for the 'cat being a collectors item in 30 years, I'm 60 now and by then will likely be driving on the great dragstrip in the sky. If my son wants one, let him have at it. He's 33 and a highly paid healthcare professional.
I get that urge every so often. Especially when the 'vette's laid up because of the weather, like now. Fortunately, I haven't done anything stupid yet.
I thought about selling my Corvette a while back to free up some cash, but then I realized what the C6's are going for and I refuse to sell it for that little. It's worth so much more to me than what I could sell it for. I love looking at cars, but I got a nice one in my garage that does nothing, but sit. If I'd trade it in and get something different, that one too will sit. I'll keep mine and keep my affordable payments.
These new cars have got to be so expensive. Sure they have all kinds of neat features but still there is only so much I would spend on any vehicle and especially if there is nothing wrong with your current Corvette.

My other car I have had for 26 years as I ordered it from factory. How time flys by. ack: Anyway for at least 20 years there was nothin out there I liked and the price was just not right.
So It takes a lickin and keeps on tickin 250,000 miles later/ 26 years later.

Why not the SRT Challenger 392 with 8 spd. auto to get that power down to ground?
