Default C6 question

I was wondering if you can get a z51 and F55 package together in one car

Not unless you make it...

Looks like the seller is talking brakes only.

Z51 is alot more than brakes...Sway bars, shocks, springs, coolers, trans gearing, and brakes.

They combined the components of each in the later year c6's. I forget what year they started but certainly by 2010 anyway..used to be if it had drilled rotors it was Z51..then they added all that to the f55 package.,...

I think!! lol

Add states "Z51 brake package and Magnetic Ride Control suspension package". I'm pretty sure the F55 and Z51 options have the same brakes. That appears to be the case with my 2009 anyways.

Looks to be a pretty good deal, assuming the car checks out.

As for getting to the bottom of it all, just ask for a photo of the sticker on the back side of the glove box. It will give you all the codes of how the car left the factory (should have the code J55 to show the upgrade brake option, and F55 to show the select ride), or then it becomes a guessing game of why thing where changed on the car after that at only 25K miles.

If the car is a z51 option with factory select ride, then should have the Z51 code, and then a F55 code as well on the glove box sticker.

I have Magnetic Ride Control on my 05 and drilled and slotted rotors. IDK if the owner did it before me, but I really like the look, minus the rusty brake rotors.

J55 brakes were just a portion of the F55 option starting in '07, the Z51 option '05-'09, and were available as a stand alone option in all years.

So on that '08, the code sticker will show both F55 and J55.

This is just another case of the seller not understanding what he is selling and calling the J55 brakes by another, but incorrect, name. He also thinks the car has a "performance package" and fails to indicate the number 3 as the LT package.

It appears to be a very nice and fully equipped car for a fair price. As a general observation, most people who buy mega-optioned cars rarely drive them hard, nor have intimate knowledge of how things work.
