Is this button lighted ?
If so i will track down power issues to the switch.

Not lighted, but you should get some kind of message on the DIC whenever you press the button.

To turn the system off,
press the button located
on the console. You
can turn the system on or
off at any time by
pressing the ACTIVE
HANDLING button. The
DIC will display the
appropriate message when
you push the button.

As stated, you should get a message on the DIC and the illustrated amber light of the car with squigly lines on the speedo side.
Seems as if your's isn't responding for whatever reason.

Blurry pic but that's the "traction control off" light above the needle there. Light is on when traction control is off.
And even then, you have to hold the button in for 4 seconds to switch modes. And you will hear a beep once it switched modes.

I no longer have my '05 but I'm 99% certain that the button was lighted.

It's possible, but for sure, it doesn't light up on my 012, I just tried it with the engine running. Just puts a message on the DIC when I press it.

First thing I'd do is pull the center console and make sure the button is connected to the wire harness.
HERE is how you do it.

Whoa!
250KM an hour! I bet your fuel tank was full when you started that run...
You are going to need to fill up soon at that rate.

I had an 05 and I'm pretty sure it was not lit. As stated earlier, remove the console and make sure it is connected.
