Just got my NPP mufflers installed last weekend on my 2011 base 3LT Torch Red A6 coupe and all I can say is I love it. I bought them from a forum member in December and got my controller from Sunset Orange Creations. Ben from Sunset is a great guy and very helpful and knowledgeable. I did the install myself in my garage. Bought a cross beam for my floor jack and just jacked up the back and left it there and used jack stands with the pucks.
I did a lot of reading and searched old posts of guys that did their own installation. This forum is fantastic. A big thank you to the many that have gone before me, you saved me some possible heartache like dropping the sway bar, avoiding the shift linkage for the auto trans by shifting it into "S" before removing the driver side muffler so it would clear.
The worst part was removing the tee for the vacuum,my hand still hurts. But it was worth it. Even did the installation of the rear controller behind the rear carpet by the pull down for the hatch. Sorry for the long post but I just wanted to share and thank my Corvette brothers.

I am curious, if you don't have the NPP exhaust, why do you want it?
With the fused removed, the car is not excessively loud. yes there is more sound than stock at idle and while driving, with the dual mode open.
It seems that there are other after market exhaust systems that could be added to the car that will give you the sound, if that's what you desire, and/or the 6HP that you get from NPP.
Ever since I removed the fuse for my NPP, I wonder why do you want the dual mode when after market exhaust could do the same...? am I missing something?

The constant noise gets old. My car is catless with a cam. With the corsa sports it was constant noise. I swapped to NPP. Now I can close them and be quiet in the neighborhood and on the highway and loud when I want it.

The open NPP sound is great if you are running gears, but on the freeway it creates a miserable drone that seems to put an echo between my ears making for a miserable driving experience.
I bought my car with the NPP but the PO pulled the fuse making it open always. I first bought some $220 sound damping pads from a vendor here - some help but not enough. I found myself choosing gears on the freeway based on which made the least exhaust noise.
Then I discovered the pulled fuse and replaced it with an M2W and now I'm really happy with the car sound. I can shut it up at 75 mph and the 1500 rpm or whatever that works out to in 6th.
There is a vendor here with an aftermarket exhaust who says no drone. If I didn't have the NPP M2W, I'd go there.
I put NPP's on my car in 2008 when Gene first got them. I also purchased the "NPP-in-a-box" and that's where it still is, in the box. I see no need to go quiet...
I keep mine open majority of the time but when me and the wife are cruising on interstate I will close it to eliminate the drone so "she can talk" and "I can listen." Haha

I did the NPP add to my 08 a couple weeks ago, and I love it. Added the M2W switch to calm it down when I need. In town it is always open, but it sure is nice to jump on interstate and be able to hear myself think again. The drone on the NPP system open isn't bad, but it gets old quickly.
If I lived in a city for most of my driving, I would have a loud A/M exhaust on my car, but I live in a town that is about a square mile, and when I get into the car it's to take a 30-min or longer drive.
Also, the NPP was a must to get the wife into taking the car on road trips.

Also, I put the adjustable "collars" on so that my NPP is always slightly open (to my taste and liking), not open or closed. It still gets loud(er) from about 2900 to 3500 rpm, but it's got a nice rumble all the time. And I can hear things at highway 1700 rpms.

This is my solution.. "Slightly" open when "closed". My Cam'd and Header car really roars when it's open so it's good to be able to (semi) close things on the highway and around my neighborhood on Sunday mornings.
