Default C4 v. C5/6

currently have a C4. I am having back issues, so getting in/out of my C4 is getting difficult. I am okay once i'm in.

It was suggested to me that a C5/6 would be easier to get in/out of. Others have said not much difference.

I am sure some of you must have experience in a C4 and either a C5 or C6. any comments on the ease, or lack thereof, of getting into/out of the different models?

Any other differences in going from C4 to the 5/6?

thanks.

I think you will find both the C5 and C6 are easier to enter and exit because the door sill is much lower than the sill in the C4. My 2011 3LT Grand Sport has an easy-enter easy-exit feature that automatically moves the seat to the rearmost position to allow for easier entry and exit. But you are going to have to try it yourself to see if it really is easier for you.

We have both a C4 (89) and a C6 (13) and the C6 is MUCH easier to get it to/ out of than the C4 because of the lower sill height alone. As Guard Dad said however, try before you buy !

if you are having back issues I would look into a higher car all together. may be a good time to consider one of the three muscle cars

I have a 85 C4 and a 07 C6. The C6 is much easier to enter and exit as the door sill is lower and there is more room in the driver's area.

Also the C6 has a much better ride that would be better for your back.

Still a pain to enter if you can't open the door wide enough. I installed a window valet that helps. You can roll the window down with the fob, that makes it much easier to enter if the door is only partially open.

I've owned 3 c4s and now have a c6 and c2. The c6 is easier but when my back hurts, it is still difficult because it's so low. My camaro is by far easier to get in and out of and still fun to drive.

Went from a C4 to a C6. Test drove C5s and C6s before deciding on the C6. It is easier to get in and out of with the entry/exit setting set with the seat fully back and up.

Test drive both and see which you prefer.

I have a C4 and a C6.
Getting in and out is easier on the C6!
But then again it's more fun to see a girl in a skirt getting in and out the C4!

I wouldn't say my C6 is easy to get in/out of...just less difficult than my C4.

The difference is night and day between getting out of a C4 as opposed to getting out of a C5 or C6.

Exit / entry seems to be the big one but once your in the width difference is huge! I felt I somewhat lost the sports car feeling when we changed from c4 to c6. Everything else is a plus and getting rid of the most demented Optispark system in the world is worth the change! I mean, who comes up with these ideas, the distributor BEHIND the water pump and the battery behind the front wheel?

You don't get in a C4. You put it on!
(A friend sold the C4 Convertible because he could not get out of it with the top up)

As much as I love my C6, I have to drop into it!!! But I did go from a Mustang GT, to a Corvette so in comparison, it's like laying on the road!! I'm only 39YR old and healthy and I sometimes smile at the fact how low I sit. So if your back is bad , maybe it's not the best bet?? But I never owned a C4, so it may be better?? I would just simply try them all. I'll bet the mustang GT500's are a bit higher off the ground but not sure? There still pretty fast and cool. I just hope I don't catch crap here for saying that LOL ????

Car is low!!! Doors allow a lot or entry/exit room, but due to height
it can be hard to exit. My wife fell on the driveway (slipped on some ice) a couple of years ago, ruptured a couple of discs, and she has one heck of time getting out (she literally has to crawl out) so try it before you buy it.\\

Most passengers would bitch about getting into or out of my C4 when I had it. Only Corvette people and a small amount of others would not complain about getting in it.

Only every now and then someone will comment about how low to the ground my C6 is when they get in. Most just get in and smile.

Based on other's opinions I have to say the C6 is easier to ingress and egress.

Have a C4 & C6....C6 is easier. And as mentioned above, on the C6 there is a easy-exit/enrty mode that moves the seat fully back automatically and the steeering wheel fully forward. makes it nice if you have long legs, not sure about the bad back.

My 2009 C6 is ten times my 1996 C4! More power, easier entry, more interior space, better ride and much more comfortable seats. Much easier on my bad back!!!

I have had c4, c5 and c6 converts and without a doubt the easiest to get in and out of and also the most roomy was the C5.

Had them all at the same time so was easy to compare, the C5 was also the most comfortable on long trips. The C4 and C6 are more fun to drive but the C5 is the best from a comfort standpoint.

Photo shows all three parked in the same place on driveway.
