I think they are asking a little too much for their 10'. It's a beautiful car though, but I would think you could get about 20K for yours???? I know selling it can be a pain in the a$$ though, so I get the wanting to trade it in. I think they're giving you too little for yours and asking a tad too much for theirs. I don't know what sort of help that was, but I wouldn't take it unless the number got down to 15K.
No way, they're asking way too much for that car. If it was 30k then maybe. If you really want to upgrade, I'd recommend selling your car private party in the Spring, and then hold out until you find the right deal. But for 35k you should be looking at Grand Sports, not base coupes.
I agree with others. Their offer is a little low on your trade and the price on their 2010 a little high. If it were me, I would feel the deal was about 5 or 6k apart.
Car is worth around $29K, so if you can get then to say $12 and your car maybe not a bad deal. Yours according the KBB has a trade in value of just over $17K, so it sounds like they are giving you that and the $17K they want would be the $34K they are asking. So if they give you the $17K I would not go over the $12K.
Byt we all know when trading in a car on either a new or used the figures are just that figures. It really does not mean much.
Keep your car and spend a little on maintenance, etc.. You will be way further ahead in 2 years $ wise because your car in excellent shape will be worth not much less than today.
I think that 2010 being a 3LT is worth more than 29 or 30k that others are quoting considering the miles. If it were a 1LT I could see the 29/30.
I think at 32/33 it's priced right.
if you have to ask a forum for opinion and reinforcement, you aren't really decided on what you'd like to do, or what values you're comfortable with, imo. if you're certain you want a newer vette with different options or colors or whatever, you'll have to determine what that is worth to YOU. if you're going through with it from there, it's just a matter of finding 'the one', and determining what fair market value is for both vehicles and reaching an agreement. don't focus on deals like "my car plus this much for their car", focus on a value for your car, and a value for their car, and make sure you're comfortable with both so you don't lose your *** on the deal.
good luck on whatever you do! on that particular deal I'd pass, I think I could find better. may as well get lower miles if that is what you're concerned about. low mile vettes are not exactly difficult to find.. : )
I have a 2005, 73K miles that nicely equipped coupe that is starting to show its age. seat has a little give, etc.
$17,650 will pay for a lot of seat replacements. I agree with the "keep the car" replies.
I have 122K on my '06. It's in perfect mechanical condition. Looking back, my biggest expenses by far have been tires, fuel, and insurance. The odd harmonic balancer here, radiator there are relatively minor expenses in comparison.
If I were in your position and I wanted to spend nearly 18 grand improving my C6 experience, I'd chase down all the little things wrong with the car and spend the remaining 16 grand taking it on road trips all over the place.
