Had the top down coming from the golf course and stop at a light that merges into 1 lane to get on the freeway. A M3 BMW pulls along side to get out first to the freeway. I came out light a bullet and had him by a good car when I merge over. That stills feels good when you need some power. Later a Zo6 came by (all Black) just cruising and I must say you guys with the GS and Z they really look BAD coming down the road. They just look mean and I think his was lowered a tad. Anyway I wanted to tell someone as my wife don't even know what a bmw is until I explain it to her.
Thanks, GS 2011 here all stock.
I have a problem with the term "Base" when describing a Vette, just doesn't fit IMHO. They are special cars period so lets start something to correct that OK
Problem is where I live unless your on the highway out of town the legal Speed limit here is 45mph, on surface streets 35mph, so there is almost no way I'd test another car because the speed attained by the Corvette very quickly would stand out against the slower moving cars dramatically. But I like hearing the stories

My Dad is about to turn 61 and I guarantee he would have some fun if some young whippersnapper tried to show him up. And it wouldn't matter what he was driving....diesel pickup, wife's car, or his tractor :-)
When I was younger and living in the same town as him, he would give me a heck of time if I tried to pass him......20 years later and he hasn't changed a bit.
Age is just a number......
thank god for the "on" ramps to interstates here in Ohio. Sure puts a grin on the chin with this 70 year old. The gastopo would have a easy shot with me. I love it. Vette is asleep now with 7" of snow.
I was beginning to think I was the only "old" guy that likes to have fun!
We need more posts like this, but watch out for tickets. Entrance ramps are the best !

I go to Havasu every yr. to see my Mom(91). Nice town and yes very low speeds on 95 south from 40. At least it only get's to 120 in the summer
My racing buddy and I are both 73 and it doesn't stop us from having fun at the drags (we both run high 10's) with our DD's. It's especially cool when we show our taillights to dedicated and trailered race cars.

I'm late 68 yoa. There's a reason I'm replacing the Valentine 1 I've used for years in my Dodge Ram with a Passportci system now that I've replaced the truck with a Z51 'vette..

We're not even close to the oldest at the track. My nephew's MIL races her El Camino at least a couple times a year and she's 86. Tough old broad with a heavy foot who plays hard and loves the speed.
