Hey Raspy, it's not a gimmick. It's a convenience thing. I like being able to ventilate hot air out of the car before you get in it and it can be helpful when some twit parks too close. If you can't open the door too far it's easier to get in with the window down. It has other functions too but these are the two I use.

^ yeah...it is hot for sure here in Tampa as well. I just did not feel the utility was truly there. I have tried it out. It is a simple unit that plugs into the OBD and there is a remote tool to activate the windows. If I were you I would but it since I did not.

Window Valet
It is quicker to install and program a window valet than it is to make a peanut butter sandwich (not as messy either).. Absolutely the best addition to my convert, bar none!!
