Default New seat cushion replaced what a diffference!!

I bought a heavy duty foam replacement seat cushion from DJ Motorsports and put it in today. It's not the easiest project, but certainly worthwhile. The old stock one was nearly cut in two by the seat springs, and the seat frame on the left side.

How long did it take? ...and did the new cushion include something to keep the wires from cutting the new one?

I did the upgrade kit as a precaution. My car only had 6000 miles on it and the foam already had cuts in it from the sides, as well as the bottom wires. The kit I got had a jute pad that covered the wires.

It does have a protective pad of some sort for the springs and it has leather strips to protect it from the seat frame on the sides. I had to peel the heater pad off and re-glue to the new pad. All told start to finish probably 4 hrs. But I took my time. The next one would be 1/2 that.

I just installed the same seat because I was changing out the upholstery. According to the website, the foam is supposed to be a better quality. I did the repair kit on the passenger side since it is not used as often.

Chevy Again, thanks for the reply. I'll be sure to allow lots of time when I do mine.
Airmed2, thanks for the heads up. I've got about 7500 on mine so I guess I can pretty much expect than mine have cuts too.

I have 18k on mine and there was only one small cut just starting. No doubt overtime the foam would have ended up destroyed.
