Does not matter how many owners of the car. You are the current owner, so simply contact your local dealer and make sure they have the parts and then schedule an appointment to have the repairs done. Takes less then an hour.

No recall for my '08. I did get a letter from GM that said out of an adundance of caution, they would install a fix to avoid any problem down the road. The word "recall" was not used anywhere in the letter!!

2008 and later is is under a "Customer Satisfaction" program.
The recall is for the prior year C6's.
Really the same thing just different terminology for GM to save face.

Yup, only 65,000 recalls, as opposed to 160,000 "Satisfied Customers."
Whoever thought that up should get a promotion to the ignition key department.

Okay, my question is to those who know, what's the chances that this is an actual issue that will arise for the car? How big an issue is it?
Thanks - just trying to learn

That's a good question. I personally have never met anyone with a C6 who has actually experienced this issue.
On several different threads, I've asked members to post if they experienced the issue, and so far only one has, (that I know of).
Certainly there must be others, but this cannot be a very serious concern, if it's so hard to find folks that have actually seen it happen on their cars.

Why take the chance, I would hate to lose my headlights when most needed at night in the rain.
GM would not waste their time or money if it was not an issue. A quick 45 minute fix and piece of mind.

You don't lose your headlights totally, only the low beams.

, but driving down the street or highway blinding oncoming cars with the high beam is not cool.

True but under some fun in the turns at night it would not be cool to loose the lightning, even if for only a lever flick away.
