Let me start off by saying I was one of those C6 forum guys that could not understand all of the hype about the new C7 and thought it could not be that much better than my 2011GS. I only have one thing to say, BOY WAS I WRONG! Today a friend that owns a new car dealership gave me the keys to a 2015 3LT Z51 coupe with the new 8 speed automatic, the C7 is a different car, when you hit the throtle it barks and bites the asphalt like no other corvette I have driven before (except for the ZR1). Before driving the C7 I thought there was no need to trade up but I have changed that idea and a C7 is in my near future, I must say though I was not that impresed with the new 8 speed transmission, the shifts did not feel that much faster than the A6.
So go ahead with the flames and the I told you so remarks, it IS an amazing car.
Just curious, did you get a chance to run the A8 through the gears in "track" mode? Seems like the posts in C7 say it changes the nature of the beast. Again, just asking.
Not at all impressed with the togetherness of the Z07, mostly the front end with the added on fender lips and the front splitter joining the fender area.
I have no doubts on the performance end.
The C6 was the first Vette I have liked since the C2, what's that covering some 38 years.
The C7 hasn't changed my mind, C2, C6, and the later C1 models are the best looking.
I must say it was not shifting as fast as I thought it would even in Track mode, does it shift faster? a little Does it shift as fast as a dual clutch? not even close Does it shift faster than or A6? perhaps a bit. That said it is a different car, more raw, edgey, instant throtle response in a good way compaired to our cars. I would say the C6 is more of a touring car and the C7 is more race inspired, these are just my observations yours may be different, do drive one if you have the chance they are amazing and there is one in my future for sure.
I personally wouldn't buy the auto but I really would have to drive the 7 speed manual for a bit before I woukd jump on moving to a c7. It just would seem awkward to me.

You think that car is fun to drive..... Ask to drive one of these
I got a chance to drive the Z06 Z07 package b4 the superbowl and WOW that thing has torque all over the band,,,,, It was awesome smile from ear to ear ..... I hate the look, but the technology is insane ,,,
I loved my C6 and never thought I'd get rid of it right up until I drove a C7; I traded my C6 that same day and haven't missed my C6 for one second since.
I will say I miss the C6 Gen crowd here compared to the C7 membership.
Two years later and I still can't get used to the C7 looks... Front end is decent but the back is still horrid.
Not fond of the AFM or weight gain either.
I have no doubt the C7 is improved over my C6 in many areas, but to my eyes the styling is still a mess. I want to, but I haven't warmed up to it yet. And now the Z06 model looks even worse to me. I just can't buy one. Obviously its selling really really well, so many don't agree with me. And I get that.
I still find my 2013 GS Coupe one of the most beautiful cars I've ever owned. I stare at it every night. I still enjoy it every time I drive it, and even the 2013 3LT interior works fine for me.
So probably at this point no C7 for me at all. But I absolutely wish every C7 owner the best with their cars. Its a great car. I'm just waiting for the C8.

Love the C6 13 GS but if I get the right deal would go C7 Z51 or maybe even a ZO6 in a couple years. The C6 radio even the 3LT navigation is kind of dated.

No doubt the interior is a bit dated in the C6. However, have you tried to use the C7 interface/Nav? It is absolutely the most un-user friendly unit I have used. I would take my C6 Nav over the C7 Nav, simply for ease of use.

I think the same thing. When I look at a C6, I think about how sleek and smooth the body lines are. When I look at a C7, I can't help but think it looks like a bunch of parts assembled together... a vent here, a vent there, and the rear end...no thanks. No future C7 plans for me.
Despite the fact I think the C6 is a better looking car, I would definitely consider a C7 for all of the reasons the OP stated. However, having sat in several trying to figure out a way to get comfortable, I've finally decided to just accept the fact I don't fit in the darn thing. So, I'll continue to enjoy my almost-paid-for '11 GS, and if I get an itch to look for more performance, I'll send it to Lingenfelter and still save a bunch of cash.
The only thing I am not impressed with is the c7 base vs z06 styling package in the c6 vs c6z it looks a world over and of difference I can honestly say I can't tell when passing a new Z unless I look close for the rear wing
I might be in the minority as a C6 owner but I love the C7 looks both outside and even more inside. The C7 cabin is a lot smaller and tighter. I want one but when I went to make the purchase the dealer had my base LT3 C6 (11k miles) for $36K and the identical color C7 (6K miles) for $66K.
I just couldn't justify an extra $30K at this time. I may reconsider in another 3-4 years.
I'm amazed how many low mileage used C7's are on the market already.
I don't get why so many people buy them and dump them after a year with only a few thousand miles.
