I have a C6 LS2 and put on a Super Charger on it last year along with the S-Type II but left the rest of the stock exhaust in place because I was totally paranoid about getting drone....worked out great just fine!

In a couple week my ARH catless pipes replace what was left of the stock stuff...and yes...I have my fingers crossed I didn't bring back the possibility of drone.

So...if I didn't have it before and now add headers...what do you think? Yeh I'm going to pick up 50-ish whp with a retune and pulley adjustment and my wrench says you won't have drone if you didn't have it before....but it WILL be louder.... I'm ok with that because obviously I can control the LOUD...

What is your prediction David? My opinion is your description of the S-Type II was spot on. I was like a ping pong ball going back and forth making the Borla decision vs.....but that's another story.

For me, in the future, about 30 pounds of deadener is the limit that I would be adding to any car. If more is needed I'll be looking at other options.
i agree, it is overwhelming, i think sound deadener might not do it, but would be good for road noise and such, which it is designed for. the exhaust has to be altered somehow, am leaning towards the Solo J pipe. people that have it, say it is the answer, but same token, people that add sound deadener, say that is the answer.

I've had some experience with sound deadener and I'm quite confident that it will not make a meaningful reduction in drone. So I guess I'm a contrarian in that respect.

Prior to installing the mufflers, I put down 2 layers of material throughout the entire vehicle when I installed my sound system:

layer 1: Damplifier Pro
http://store.secondskinaudio.com/vibration-dampers-cld/

this will kill any vibration that the panels of the car experience due to the road as well as the exhaust.

layer 2: Luxury Liner Pro
http://store.secondskinaudio.com/mlv-noise-barriers/

this will absorb any noise coming into the car that isn't caused by the body panels vibrating. It will also kill your tire noise, etc.

I used the "Thermal Block" on the tunnel and it worked really well for heat reduction, how many sheets of each did you use or did you get the Corvette Package?
