It has been 1 year since my last oil change. So I changed oil today.
Distance driven in the past 12 months: 231 miles
Oil Life Index: 96%
I know, what a waste. It is embarrassing. My office is only 8.6 miles from home. It can take 40 minutes to make the commute one way. The commute is bumper to bumper, both ways. It is not that much fun with the manual, so I have been leaving the Vette at home and driving my other vehicle. I did not realize how little I have driven the Vette this past year.
So starting next week end I am going to start having some fun, and get reacquainted with this awesome car.
You're not the only one Road don't feel bad there's plenty of us up here in the north in the same position. The high here in northeast Ohio today is a big 0.So if you guys in the good weather can enjoy your rides do it and have fun! Better days are comin.
Great color on that car. Don't fall prey to the notion that you should change your oil once a year whether it needs it or not. Its a complete farce. You'll hear everything from condensation build up to gremlins taking up residence in your oil pan if you don't change it yearly. Total hogwash.
I don't want to try and tell you how to live your life, but get out of the office for a long weekend. You live in a fabulous area of our country. Drive 101 and 1 up to Monterey/Carmel, maybe watch the C7R race team at Laguna Seca in May. Do a wine tour. See Hearst Castle and drive 1 & 101 back home. The office will still be there when you get back.
I know it's easier said than done - I worked 55-60 hour weeks for 15 years before decided one day "that's enough", I'm retiring in 3 weeks. And I did just that. Hopefully, someday you will be able to do that.

Congratulations on your retirement. When I purchased the car back in 2005, my wife and I drove up through Big Sur and stayed at a B&B in Carmel. We had diner at the Mission Ranch Restaurant (Clint Eastwood's place). That was a weekend to remember. I think it is time for a repeat.
I replaced all four Z51 rotors, and the front and rear brake pads and all coolant hoses (radiator, heater core and overflow reservoir hoses). They were over 10 years old so you never know when one might fail.
Now, the good part. Made plans for a 5 day trip to Carmel by the Sea. My wife and I drove up North through Big Sur, stayed at the Tally Ho Inn in Carmel, which had covered indoor parking (a big plus). We had a nice view of the Pacific from our balcony (see photo), had brunch on Easter morning at the Mission Ranch (Clint Eastwood's place), did some shopping, drove the 17 mile drive through Pebble Beach, went to the Monterey Aquarium, and Point Pinos Lighthouse and Cannery Row. Lots of good food and time for relaxing. The relaxing part was much needed by both of us, as work has been very stressful this year. I no longer feel "postal". It was one of our best vacations and the Corvette performed perfectly. Now, time for another detailing.

I am the same boat. Had the car since Mar. '12 and only 3,800mi on it, but have not changed the oil. Considering the amount of oil in the GS dry sump, not really concerned, but it's on my list for this summer.
Less than 2 miles to work, so usually just force myself to take it out for an hour or so ride after work once in a while just to run it. At least have some nice back roads near me. Have always had a motorcycle, so that is how we usually spend weekends in nice weather.
Looking to buy a house, so that will be consuming my time this summer, but afterward my commute will likely change to at least 10 or 15 miles, so will then try and drive it more that way in the nice weather.
Ahh, Cally traffic, how I remember that Worked Thousand Oaks quite a lot in the 80's, tract houses were popping up everywhere, but the drive from El Toro was murder.
Makes me glad that we retired & moved to Arizona, although every location has some drawbacks but traffic in NW Az isn't one of them Now temperatures are a different story LOL

Honestly, I do not think your story is too far off from a lot of us.. I live up in the bay area and both of us work... 4 vehicles, so to take the vette when other easier vehicles are there takes actual thought and effort. I work ~7mi thru town to work, the vette barely warms up. Getting out of the "rat race" can be difficult at times as we fall into the same routine. We are not 200 miles bad, but can relate to you for sure.
