Default Window tint question

When you get the rear window tinted are they using one piece or multiple pieces? if they use a single piece are they using a relief cuts? We just had ours done and they cut relief cuts. From my understanding they are saying they have to do cut the piece.... I will try to post pics.

It took A LOT of time & energy w/the heat gun, but my go-to window tinter did it w/one piece using 3M ceramic limo tint on the back window. I got to watch. He rolled it on the outside of the back window to a wet window (w/the tint facing backwards), then he cut it out to fit the out side of the window. He then began using a heat gun & a small plastic blade that looked like the end of a spatula. He gradually kept shrinking the tint to fit to the contours of the window. After a long time, the tint was shaped the same way as the glass. Then he used a razor blade and trimmed the tint perfectly. This whole process took a long time. He was saying; "If you use to much heat you melt the tint, not enough & it won't shrink & you can't keep the heat gun in one place for to long or it will melt." It seemed like it was a very slow deliberate process. If you want it done in one piece using ceramic tint, I would pick an installer that knows how to shrink tint the right way. There are no bubbles & no imperfections anywhere on the back window. I am very impressed with his work. If you're in the Central Texas area, I can recommend a GREAT tint shop.

It can be done in one piece with an experienced tinter. Take it back or peel it off and use another shop.

I did do that, but I seem to get a million things not related to what I looking for. I get threads that use the word "tint" in them. I also saw alot of threads about the matrix dots... I understand all about the dots and that isn't what I was looking for.
Sorry, not trying to be a jerk, but pretty much every single topic in world has been discussed here on this site. So with the search button I guess there really is no reason for anyone to post any questions anymore? You don't think people may want to hear from others that may have not chimed in before about a particular subject? Or maybe even someone might have something new to say about a subject.....

My tint guy did it in one piece no cuts. He used the same process as dmoneychris's guy. Looks great.

Had both my Grandsports done by Mingo at Suncap Auto Tint in Spring, Tx.

Rear window is a single piece ceramic tint and no issues with the dot matrix at the top.

No, In Spring.

Its actually Suncap AutoTint, Not Suntint.

I've corrected my original post and apologize for any confusion caused.

FWIW, Mingo also did the paint protection on my 2011 GrandSport.

Holy crap. I paid $150 for all three windows. 5 on the back, 20 on sides. One piece rear with a lifetime warranty on labor and film.
