hello everyone, i'm looking for headers for my 2010 C6 coupe. any
advise if the headers are really worth the trouble and if so, what are
the better headers available. also, are the short headers also worth
the time. thanks everyone for you suggestion.
Theyre no trouble at all... to install...
Youll need a tune, but itll be worth it!! Definitely go with the long tubes, just as easy to install as the shorties.
Best brands in not part. order:
American Racing
Kooks
LG Racing
Texas Speed
Don't bother with shorty headers. Long tube headers are where you make your power and wake the car up. I personally have LG long tube street headers 1 3/4" and they are fantastic with an F1 like exhaust note. I went with hi-flo cats for sound and stink reduction. On my prior LS2 GTO I had Kook's long tubes at 1 7/8" and they were solid if not more expensive. American Racing also makes a nice product. PFADT headers are great but they do not manufacture their headers anymore unless you can find a set somewhere.
....oh yes...and you will need a tune to dial in the now lean air mixture
I have the American Racing long tube with there hi-flow cats. Well worth the money and it is good for 35-40 HP. While at about the same cost of a set of cat backs you will not gain anything to speak of.
OP,Take my advice and do not get headers that are not welded 360 degrees around the outlet pipes.I had a set of name brand headers put on my 08 2 yrs ago with a tune.Six months later I've notice they are leaking on five outlets. It is not the gaskets!! And you get no warranty.Sucks......

In a way I did: Get headers that are welded 360 around thetubes..Hint" I can not say what brand, because they are a vendor on this forum. And I'm not the only one that has problems with them. Thanks
Sorry to hear about the A brand fail. I personally have never owned their product but I reflect other consumer's sentiments...and my own. LG for me has been great and their relationship with GM is a testament to that.
