Navtool anyone
Bluntly, you can try to skin the problem in more than a half of dozen ways to add features to the Nav radio, but in the end, just end up with the radio more clumsy to use in the end to get it to do a feature that you want it to do instead.
So on that note, if you want more features than our stock unit has, them upgrade it some thing else instead.
If you are looking for something store bought in a upgrade radio, then take a look at DD for their aftermarket Nav decks instead.

On the other hand, if you looking to break free of the restrictions that pre-built systems place on the radio and it programs/programing to try to get more money out of you for added services, then may be time to break out of the mold.
Currently, I working on a Car stereo computer system that will be using a Banana Pro, SSD, with 7" touch screen for my Vet instead. With the OS rooted, the option that the system can do are endless, now and in the future. And the best part, will have less than $200 in the system.
