Default TPMS question

My '07 is getting some new rubber on Saturday. Michelin PS A/S ZP's. Stock sizes. Discount Tire has the TPMS sensors available if I want to add them to the list. I do not know if they were replaced in the past, if not, they are 8 years old currently. I have not had any TPMS related issues.

Would you replaces the sensors now or just wait till failures happen? Figure it's another ~$240 for all 4.

I'm leaning on replacing them. but this is my first tire change and just looking for opinions.

Thanks,

I would wait until one goes... You might get more time, or not.

Thanks for the responses. $37.79 ea is much cheaper! I'll get a hold of them.
I'll replace 'em.

I've heard that some of the aftermarket sensors don't last too long. May want to check with Gene Culley (Cultrag sp?) for a price for OEMs.

at 8 years you should change them with the tires otherwise you might have to spend additional labour to have them changed in a couple of years

I was just about to post the same question, my 09 is getting tires in a couple of months, do 6 years and 40K miles, I think I'll get new ones now rather than deal with demounting the tires later

Just make sure to get the OEM ones, such as the ones being sold by amazon!!!!
The aftermarket types will be lucky to have them last a few years before the battery goes south, and they have to be replaced again.

Also there are two types for the USA C6's.

the first ones are for the 05 to 09 models, and the other type is for 2010 to 2013 models. Make sure that you are ordering and receiving the correct ones, or they will not work with model year.

Thanks for all the input. I'll get them changed out at the same time I replace tires.
