Default Ceramic Break Pads ??

I have a C6 11 GS and am tired of OEM brake pads and dust plus they are starting to squeak. What are a Great set of ceramic pads that are available out there and where can I get them ? Thanks in advance.

I always used Raybestos Quiet Stops on the C5's that I had. I haven't put them on my C6 yet.

i just ordered the HAWK pads for my car because i feel the same way as you about the brake dust. hopefully they'll have a vast improvement over the OEM.

I use Autozone Ceramic Pads on my daily drivers. There are other reputable ceramic pads on the market.

The brakes on my C6 are good as is (23K miles). Yes there is dust. However, I have waxed with Rejex, and pad dust removal has been a simple wiping with a soft dry cloth.

If your pads are in good shape, you might want to do the same, but I believe it's a personal choice.

I have 21k on mine and have waxed them several times, but the dust is still bad plus they are starting to squeak.

I've had fantastic luck with GM ceramic pads. They are super cheap on Fleabay. Gene Culley has them too.

No such thing as great ceramic pads. Ceramic by their very material suck. They will squeak, they will be sketchy when cold, and they will reach a point where they just stop working from a heat perspective.

Having to clean up some dust I a small price to pay for brakes that actually stop IMO.

FWIW, the OEM GS pads are made by Ferodo, and are basically a mid level track pad, hence the massive amounts of dust from them.

For though who try to say their is no quality brake pad for the GS or ZO6, I dis agree the Carbotech 1521 pad performs like stock if not better under thresh hold braking and will cut your dust by 80% on the GS cars. Take a look at the 20k review below and the pad description. The 1521will do what ever you ask it to do plus 100% non corrosive will not harm your wheels or paint. This is a performance street pad I do not recommend tracking it as it is only good to 900 Degrees..

Please call me at 216-780-8825 to order. Total front and rear is $509 for the 1 piece design plus shipping figure $20. This will be the last brake pad you order hands down.

Carbotech™ Bobcat 1521™ The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non-corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.

Are those padlets or one piece because I am thinking of using those also but I would like to try one piece brakes now.

I have used the Hawk ceramic pads for over a year now. They stop great, make absolutely no noise, and emit very little brake dust. The original pads were awful. Couldn't drive the car more than a few miles without dust. I got the one piece design.

Wow, that is amazing. My experience is exactly the opposite. I love my cheapo Advance Auto ceramic pads. They work great, and very little dust.

I'm going with semi metallic pads(Wearever Gold) on my GS this summer. Brake dust does not bother me. Better stopping power too.

I just bought Akebono ceramic pads and I have never heard anyone say a disparaging word about them.
