I am sure this has been addressed before, but I cannot find a good answer. I am looking for an in expensive, low profile floor jack that will work on my C6 and (hopefully a C7.) I do not want a scissor jack and I do not want to spend $500.00 on a jack I would use maybe twice a year.
I recently had to remove the front tire off of my C6 and with my standard floor jack I could only get it under the rear jacking point (not the front one) and even then I was unable to use the jacking pucks. I was careful and did not damage the rocker panels.
Suggestions are welcome on a type of jack that will work as well as a source for the jack.

Harbor Freight seems to be the consensus around here. A few different low-profile jack options.
I bought one from Home Depot. Husky 2 Ton Aluminum Racing Jack Model # HD00110 and it works great for 180.00
4000 lbs. capacity
Lifting range: 3.5 in. to 16.5 in.
Meets ANSI 2009 standards
Dual pump design
4 in. rubber saddle pad
Rear swivel casters for easy maneuverability
Foam padded handle to prevent damage to vehicle
I'm looking to buy from Harbor Freight when they open their new store in little ole Havasu next month low profile long reach!!
But I don't expect to be able to jack up the Vette front end without my home made 2X10 ramps and cradles, just to low, unless it's a single wheel lift then use pucks.
Side note: anyone have an opinion on oil vs oil less air compressors, they have a nice portable 8 gal on sale right now that I'm thinking about getting, been using a lot of air lately and the little one I have just doesn't cut it.
Thanks
NSF
I have the Harbor Frieght 3 ton and love it. It will not reach under the front end to raise it from the the center. Still need to drive up on a 2X. It will reach under the rear for single point lift. I never put stands under the lifting pucks. To me it seems unstable, like any small movement would allow the puck to slide off the stand. Too smooth a surface to use here in earthquake county. I alway put mine under the car at the GM suggested support points.
On that note, the best low-profile long-reach floor jack for the C6 is undoubtedly the Omega/Blackhawk 29023 (about $390 + shipping). This 125 pound beast slides easily under jacking pucks installed in the frame slots in the rocker panels. No 2x12 drive-on boards are required. The Omega can be fitted with a crossbar and rolled under the nose of a C6 all the way to the designated lifting points without contacting the front fascia. As far as I know, no other jack can do this.
Short of a 2- or 4-post lift, possibly the only better C6 lifting device would be the Bendpak/Ranger BL-5000 Quick Jack ($1,295 at Summit Racing).
Harbor Freight has several to choose from. the small aluminum 1.5 ton will work fine and for $59 to $79 you cant beat it. Look for a HF discount add in any automotive magazine for the sale price. Don't forget to use jacking pucks.
