Looks aftermarket so it should just be held on with doublesided tape.
Take some fishing line and "saw" through the tape. Then the rest should come off pretty easy.....might need some goo-gone to remove all the adhesive.

The sign says "LS2" , it was there when I bought the car, most likely aftermarket unless GM Shipped some 2007 with LS2 badges ?
I took of my emblems. It was cold in the garage so I put my portable heater by it let it warm up a bit then used fishing line to get behind and cut it off. I then used WD-40 to clean-up residue glue. Took about 10 mins for both

Be sure you keep pulling outward on that fishing line while sawing. Lot better off removing more glue then repairing the paint.

Call me stupid but it's safe to use WD-40 on the paint ?

If you need heat, you'll probably be better off using a hair dryer instead of a heat gun. Heat guns can get too hot and damage the paint. And a hair dryer should soften the adhesive up nicely. After you get the goo off, just buff it and wax it and you'll be good to go.

Use a hair dryer on it for a few minutes. Put you hand beside the emblem and heat it up. If your hand gets uncomfortable, its getting too hot. Keep the dryer moving. Instead of fishing line, I suggest dental floss -- the flat tape kind. Work slow and move the floss back and forth. Should pop right off. WD-40 will clean up the goo and will not harm the finish.
