I went to Florida to visit my son when I got down there I asked for a fun rental and they said both of their Corvettes had been rented (I needed room for three people anyway) but they had a Convertible SS so I said what the hack I might be fun. While is was an OK car it in no way compares to a C6 it was peppy but not quick at all, the exhaust almost sounded like it wasn't running way to quite for a sports car! I will say the seats were comfortable and it was fun with the top down.
We had great weather for the weekend which made for a nice visit but I missed my Vette!
Well a little more so.
The truth is I stopped at the GM dealership to look at a Camaro I came home with a C6 I had not driven a Camaro since my old 79' I will say they have come a long way! I did have a Trans Am in 83' this too was a very different but they were all fun in there own way!
I Flew into Jacksonville and rented from Budget they said they have two C7s as well but you need to request them in advance because they sell out. The Camaro I suspect sells out as well I just caught them on a slow day. They told me they usually get an extra $50 over the Premium car I had reserved but they only charged me $20 because it happened to be available. It was worth the $20 a day a least for me, my son enjoyed driving it and my wife enjoyed the convertible at least one of the days we were there. Not much room in the trunk with the top down. Enjoy your trip!
