So when someone is calling me. I push the "push to talk" button to try to answer the incoming call. However, it does not want to answer the call.
Unless I push it a ton of times or it decides randomly to pick up.
Anyone else experience this?
I am trying to establish if this is just another sub par tech item in our cabin that I should learn to live with since its a performance car..
.or if I have an issue...
By the way I have a Samsung galaxy phone

By the way I have a Samsung galaxy phone
had the same issue when I first used it.
then I got the answer from the forum crowd.
apparently one has to push AND HOLD the button for a few seconds, not just a brief casual click on it (as one would assume).
worked for me, give it a shot
Mine works fine every time. The top button to answer and bottom button to end on the left side of the wheel. It could be the Bluetooth is not starting. When you start the car it boots up and shows Bluetooth on the DIC after all the idiot lights go through the start up. My phone gets wacked out after Verizon does updates and needs to be paired again.

Okay, thanks I will give this a try tommorow!
I thought it was just a quick push as the owners manual does not say to hold it...but makes sense. thanks...

Okay, yes I have noticed in some cases I was starting the engine and had the problems so this may be part of the problem I will look for the Bluetooth on the drivers information center...never noticed it before. ...THANKS
My Honda's have the auto answer option also, but I don't see it in my '11 GS Owner's Manual so I guess we don't have it. Just remember to hold that answer button for two seconds.
as a general comment to this thread, it seems to be mostly related to the phone model and software, as to how advanced the bluetooth works in our vettes.
I have a Nokia 925, with the latest Windows software on it, and I even have the option of multiple lines of hands free texting when driving.
As for the OP question, I press my "pickup call" button for about a second, and it seems to pick up OK. If I just short blip it, I have to do it again.

First, let me say that I subscribe to the holding of the button for a second before releasing my finger. Works every time.
Push&hold and say, "1 one thousand", release and you're connected.
Second, The pairing process between any two Bluetooth devices will take anywhere from as little as 5 seconds to as much as 20 seconds depending on the devices, locations, etc.
There is no way you could possibly answer a call through your Bluetooth system, while starting your engine.
I have a Sony Xperia Z3 cell phone, and my wife has a Samsung Galaxy S4, and it takes about 10 seconds after "Bluetooth" shows on the DIC, for a pairing to take place.
Mine has worked fine and as I hold the button down for about 2 seconds and sure enough like it or not I answer the phone.
to end it only takes a quick push of the lower button on the steering wheel.
I had an 09 coupe the just a quick push of the button worked but went thru the same as OP when I got the GS. Someone told me push and hold. Works every time.

Thanks for this - I was having the same problem........

Wonder if something changed in recent years?
The "push and hold" is most likely a safety feature to avoid accidental brushes with the button that picks up the phone. So now it requires a more concerted effort. Kinda makes sense.
Instead of listing what phone you have, I would rather know what year of vehicle you have. Your comment about this being "another sub par tech item" is a cheap shot. it would be best to read the manual to learn how to receive a hands-free call. Here is what the manual for my 2013 instructed:
Receiving a Call
When an incoming call is received,
the audio system mutes and a ring
tone is heard in the vehicle.
. Press b / g to answer the call.
For navigation radio press and
hold for two seconds.
So, you need to press & hold the button. Works fine.

Yep I did read the manual, it stated to just push the button when receiving calls in another area it says to hold it....
Not a cheap shot just truth...relative to other cars I have owned the tech in these cars is a bit behind...in my last car you simply blipped the button and bam it answered. I could actually care less about all that tech crap, thats why I am back in the Vette world...used to own a 2008. Misssed the performance and reliability of the Vette, just was trying to make it work....thats all.
By the way thanks everyone it does work.
Although I have noticed that sometimes you miss a call waiting for it to pick up........
