Last year I adjusted the tilt wheel down on my c6 convertible and the horn started blaring. Putting the wheel back up solved this. I'm about to take the car out of winter storage and have warmed the car up in the garage. Just brushing the wheel with my leg gets the horn blaring. Sounds like an obvious short in the column. Anyone else ever had this problem?
Does your column telescope as well? If so, does this affect it too?
Look in the Sticky section at the top of this Forum for the Mega Thread with all the DIY's and search for Active Handling Connector Clips (TSB).
This is a different issue but has a good tutorial for accessing the wiring harness
The problem may be in the wheel not the column. Another easy DIY for pulling the air bag and inspecting the buttons/connectors.
Thanks for the help. I do have the telescoping wheel, but not sure if that affects it or not. I'll let you know. Thanks again.
